Halifax Event: Crash Course in Climate Justice
Rm 1107 Mona Campbell
Refreshments will be provided by the College of Sustainability!
The UN Climate Change Negotiations (COP-17) are just around the corner. Action on climate change is needed like never before. 2012 will be the end of the only legally-binding emissions reductions commitments, with little agreement on how to replace the Kyoto protocol. This is why youth must act locally, provincially, federally, and internationally to organize actions, influence government and implement concrete solutions.
The Canadian Youth Delegation is preparing to head to Durban for COP 17, the UN Climate Change Negotiations in Durban, South Africa. We are going for several reasons: to represent the youth climate movement in Canada, to hold our leaders accountable and to seek solutions to one of the biggest challenges humanity has ever faced.
Come out on Wednesday, Nov 16, to join a discussion about climate justice, the UN process, Canada’s history and our future.
Plus, we’ll have snacks!
