Canada abandons the Kyoto Protocol
Yesterday, Canada’s Environment Minister announced that Canada will be formally withdrawing from the Kyoto Protocol. Members of the Canadian Youth Delegation released the following statement:
While not surprising, Peter Kent’s latest announcement is an outstanding example of our government’s loyal service to the fossil fuel industry. Just hours after returning from Durban, our Environment Minister blamed financial cost for a Canadian pull-out from the Kyoto Protocol. The truth is that inaction will be the real cost, both to our economy and to the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable communities. Our generation will not idly stand by as our future is sacrificed in the name of short-term profit.

Very sad that despite the efforts done by African Countries to tame the climate issues,Canada is trying to pull out of Kyoto Protocal. This will be disastaruos to Canada continent which is on the risks of facing typhoons, etc.
It is sad to note that at the time the world is looking forward to working together as one to confront climate change challenges the others are pulling out.
